Welcome to the Lost Charlotte blog

Welcome to the Lost Charlotte Blog.  We hope that you will learn something about the Queen City of the South that is not mentioned in the Visitors and Convention Bureau’s brochures.  I hope that after you visit us the first time that you will return often.

Charlotte, North Carolina has always tried to reinvent itself over the years.  From George Washington’s description of the town as a “trifling place” to D. A. Tompkins’ efforts to recreate the city into the capital of the New South with textile manufacturing to its rise as a banking center in the mid-20th century.

I hope that you will visit this site often and if you have any suggestions for a topic or have a question, please email me at perry1644@carolina.rr.com.
